watchOS 27: Dynamic App Grid, Siri at the center and smarter Smart Stack

Apple redesigns the watchOS 27 home screen around Siri AI: a new dynamic app grid puts the assistant at the center, flanked by most-used shortcuts and contextual suggestions that shift throughout the day.

An interface rebuilt around AI

With watchOS 27, Apple reorganizes the main interface structure of Apple Watch. As reported by Engadget and confirmed by AppleInsider, the new Dynamic App Grid places Siri AI at the center of the menu, surrounded by recently opened apps and shortcuts the system considers relevant in the current moment. This is not a simple aesthetic reorder: the grid updates autonomously based on context, time of day, and recorded habits.

A more moment-aware Smart Stack

The Smart Stack also receives an expansion: its contextual cards become more numerous and more responsive to daily events. Tom's Guide notes that tapping index finger and thumb together once now activates the Smart Stack one-handed — an ergonomic change designed for users who need wrist access during workouts or on the move.

Dedicated Siri app access

Beyond the grid, watchOS 27 introduces a standalone Siri app accessible both by voice and by tap. According to Tom's Guide, AI processing occurs via private cloud rather than on-device, and Apple emphasizes that queries remain inaccessible even to Apple itself. A Siri session started on the watch can be resumed on another Apple device, maintaining conversation context.
