Immersive environments in Safari
Among the new features of visionOS 27, immersive environments arrive in Safari too. The feature, cited in WWDC 2026 session analyses on Framesixty.com, allows browsing the web while immersed in a spatial context — a logical extension of the Environments already available for apps like TV and Music. It is not yet clear whether environments are preset or customisable, but the direction is unambiguous: Apple wants Safari on Vision Pro to feel like a contextualised spatial experience, not a floating browser window.
Multiple tab views
At number 242 in the 263-feature WWDC 2026 list published by iClarified, support for "Multiple tab views in Safari in visionOS" is listed. On a headset that by its nature allows spatial layouts unconstrained by a fixed screen, managing multiple tab groups as distinct objects in space has its own ergonomic logic: thematic areas can be kept separate without scrolling through a flat list.
Converging towards a spatial browser
The two features together — immersive environments and multi-tab structure — signal that Apple is transforming Safari on Vision Pro into something categorically different from the iOS and macOS versions. It is not a port; it is a browser rethought for the spatial dimension.
