Extension to the full ecosystem
One of the less obvious but more significant aspects of the WWDC 2026 keynote — in terms of ecosystem coherence — is the extension of Siri AI beyond iPhone and iPad. As documented by Engadget and TechRadar during their live blogs, Apple confirmed that Siri AI is also coming to watchOS, with a new app grid on Apple Watch, as well as to CarPlay and AirPods.
New voices and personalisation
TechRadar notes that the new Siri introduces additional voices with customisation parameters: users will be able to adjust the assistant's pace and expressivity. This may seem cosmetic, but it reflects a paradigm shift: Siri AI is designed to be a continuous interlocutor, not just a short-command executor, and voice quality matters in a conversational experience.
On macOS, TechRadar reports, Siri AI integrates into Spotlight — the only viable solution without a Dynamic Island on Macs — and appears in a dedicated field on right-clicking files and windows. Apple's stated goal is to reduce the need to manually switch between apps: Siri can query Photos, Maps, Mail, and other system apps to answer compound questions without the user ever opening a single application.
