Connectivity, finally addressed
Among the entries in MacRumors' categorized list published June 10, two iOS 27 connectivity features deserve separate attention because they solve real, documented problems.
The first is the ability to use the same phone number on two separate iPhones. Apple has not yet clarified full technical details — it likely relies on eSIM and iCloud Phone Number architecture — but the feature addresses a common use case: users carrying both a work and personal iPhone, or those wanting a backup device active with the same phone identity.
The second is smoother transitions between Wi-Fi and cellular networks. The momentary disconnection felt when moving away from an access point and switching to mobile data is one of the most common and hardest-to-fix annoyances without touching radio hardware. Apple has not described the specific technique, but the feature is listed among confirmed improvements.
Details that build trust
Neither feature belongs in a keynote, but they are exactly what distinguishes a mature operating system from one that piles on features without tending to foundations.
