An app that practices what it preaches
For WWDC 2026, Apple updated its Apple Developer app to version 11.0, choosing to make it a practical demonstration of the new visual language. MacRumors reported that the app features "a Liquid Glass redesign" and that the icon has been completely redesigned: "The Apple Developer app has a revamped Liquid Glass icon that reintroduces some older design elements while adopting the translucent Liquid Glass aesthetic."
The icon with pencil, brush, and ruler
The interesting detail is in the icon design: a pencil, paintbrush, and ruler form the letter "A," bringing iconographic elements that were present in previous versions of the app back into the Liquid Glass aesthetic. It's a way for Apple to show that the new design doesn't erase the visual history of its tools, but reinterprets it.
Stickers for Messages
Alongside the redesign, version 11.0 includes WWDC 2026-themed stickers usable in the Messages app. It's a minor detail functionally, but consistent with Apple's strategy of making every event a moment of engagement for the developer community. The app is available across all Apple platforms and provides access to session videos, release notes, and the Group Lab schedule.
